Do adult colouring books really help with stress and anxiety? We all know how tedious it can be when you are stuck at home recovering from an operation or illness.
When you go home after treatment, you need to keep busy so as not to go crazy from boredom or overthinking your situation too much. Too many questions and thoughts go flying about in your mind, and you make yourself sick with worry.
I’m Converted
I started using adult colouring books after I heard about them during a programme on tv. I was struggling with reading and writing post-surgery, I was able to draw, while winding down listening to music in the background. Normally some Sam Smith or James Arthur.
The first book I came across was Millie Marotta’s Tropical Wonderland: A Colouring Book Adventure.
See if it works for you. There are loads on Amazon and they are cheaper there than in shops. You don’t have to take my word for it. Here Are Some Adult Colouring Books you can get and read their reviews:

I asked people on the Facebook Group to see if anyone else used them. Here was the response:
“Yes. I have an adult one with some awesome words in lol. It was my Christmas present. Plus I get involved when the girls colour, I love it myself really. Shhhh”
“Yes took them to the hospital with me also”
“Yes! I love them so much”
So why not have a look at what is available and maybe have a go, it really is very therapeutic.
