Interview With Brain Tumour Research About Wear A Hat Day

Interview with Brain Tumour Research About Wear A Hat Day

I first started fundraising for Brain Tumour Research in 2011, and since then, I’ve supported the charity in many different ways.

Over the years, I’ve made and sold greetings cards, taken part in a 5K Santa Run, and even joined a Superhero Run to raise money for this important cause.

I was also delighted to work with pupils from Lancing College Preparatory School, where my former History teacher later became Headmaster. Together, the school took part in The Grand Challenge, raising an incredible £1,247 for charity in collaboration with Animal Free Research UK.

The reason I fundraise is that I support Brain Tumour Research and the important work they do. I had the pleasure of speaking to Hugh all about one of their biggest fundraisers, called Wear a Hat Day.

Why Raising Awareness Matters

More recently, I’ve attended meetings of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Brain Tumours at Westminster and continued promoting the work of Brain Tumour Research through my social media channels and during my time on Croydon Radio between 2013 and 2017.

For me, raising awareness is just as important as fundraising. The more people understand the urgent need for brain tumour research, the more chance we have of improving outcomes for patients and families.

How to Join Wear A Hat Day 2021

Wear A Hat Day was just around the corner, taking place on Friday 26th March 2021.

It’s such a simple idea: wear your favourite hat, make a donation, and help fund life-saving research.

Whether it’s silly, stylish, colourful, or classic — every hat can help make a difference.

Final Thoughts

Wear A Hat Day is fun, simple, and meaningful. By putting on a hat and making a donation, you can help fund research, raise awareness, and support families affected by brain tumours.

Sometimes the smallest actions can make the biggest difference.
